The mission of the International Independent Arts Council is to:
record and evaluate the needs and issues of the art forms in particular matters of administration, organization, promotion and fundraising for arts projects;
create a solid administration base and an experienced team to support the day to day work of IARC’s administration, based on the needs and requirements of the art sectors that it supports;
organize professional development programmes (seminars, conferences, presentations, meetings, exhibitions), to provide up to date educational material to its members and other interested parties who wish to broaden their knowledge of management techniques, organization, promotion and fundraising of arts projects;
inform its members through its seminar programme and free education packs on business planning, fundraising techniques, arts management methods and cultural policy, as well as to provide information to arts unions and companies;
contribute indirectly to the improved management of art projects through the IARC’s professional development programmes which are based on innovative administrative and funding models;
record and evaluate information, data and programmes which are relevant to the arts community, to promote and support the distribution of this information focusing, predominantly, on cooperation between the arts communities worldwide;
create, through the IARC’s events and presentations, the conditions and communication channels for an open and positive dialogue between artists and art organizations with other companies, individuals and local (e.g. district, community), national (e.g. Ministries of Culture) or European, Asian, American and global organizations (e.g. European Council);
assist artists, art organizations and others to appreciate the benefits and understand the importance of quality arts management and cultural policy, ans help them to recognise that they constitute an integral part of an arts project.
Following an evaluation based on specific economic and artistic criteria, to distribute income earned from its events, seminar programmes and membership fees, in a form of small grants, to artists and established non profit organizations, with the aim of supporting them financially, and, consequently, offering arts practitioners the opportunity to show their work.
